A Setback for Second Amendment Rights on Campus

A legislative effort to eliminate gun-free zones on public college campuses has died. But

A legislative effort to eliminate gun-free zones on public college campuses has died. But for its student sponsor, the fight isn’t over yet. On Thursday, an effort to eliminate gun-free zones on New Hampshire college campuses fizzled out in the state Legislature, when the Senate voted against a committee of conference to renegotiate the bill with House leaders. Despite the setback, proponents of the legislation say they're not done. We'll be pursuing this with a legal challenge," says state Rep. Sam Farrington (R–Rochester), who sponsored the bill, which would have also allowed students to carry nonlethal weapons such as pepper spray and mace

Ressa at Dartmouth

Anti-Free Speech Figure Calls the State of Free Speech in the U.S. “Horrific”

In the global anti-free speech movement, Maria Ressa stands apart. The 2021 Nobel Peace Prize winner and Columbia professor has used her celebrated position to call for censorship in the name of tolerance and diversity. She is showered with accolades as she calls for curtailing speech with a highly sophisticated, though at times Orwellian, pitch. In the cause of tolerance, she calls for viewpoint intolerance, particularly in the regulation of speech on the Internet. That was evident this week as she spoke at Dartmouth’s Division of Institutional Diversity and Equity Social Justice Awards. The most insidious aspect of this campaign is how academic and other groups regularly portray Ressa as a free speech advocate.

After 55 years, Dr. Demento has finally retired from the airwaves.

After 55 years, Dr. Demento has finally retired from the airwaves. When Barret Hansen, better known as Dr. Demento, recently ended his weekly show, he had spent 55 years spinning weird, silly, or otherwise strange songs on the radio or online. No mere fringe figure, he was an influential figure in American comedy and one of the most important cultural libertarians of his era. That might seem far-fetched to people who grew up in a post-SNL, post-Seinfeld world. But in the early 1970s, all that lay in the future. Television shows still had to pass strict censorial review to be aired, and the same code policed much of what could be heard on mainstream radio. Hansen's program pushed against those strictures.

Before Leaving Congress, Says Todd Blanche and Kash Patel “Perjured Themselves”

Before Leaving Congress, Says Todd Blanche and Kash Patel “Perjured Themselves”. While speaking to Kirsten Welker on NBC’s Meet the Press this morning, Massie vowed to use his speech or debate immunity and read the names. Article I, Section 6 of the Constitution provides that, with the exception of Treason, Felony, or Breach of the Peace, Representatives “shall not be questioned in any other Place,” prosecuted, or sued over “any Speech or Debate in either House.” Massie previously threatened to name the names of Epstein’s coconspirators in September 2025. Massie told Welker on Sunday that he will read redacted names from the Epstein Files in the coming weeks and months, adding, “There’s still millions of files they haven’t released.”

‘His Side’: New book debunks male privilege, gives platform to men in a women’s world

Released in February, it offers a follow-up to her book that came out in 2013, ” Men on Strike.”

Helen Smith, a licensed psychologist with over 20 years in the field with an emphasis in clinical and forensic psychology, has published a new book: “His Side: Men Speak Out on Dating, Marriage, and Life in America.” Released in February, it offers a follow-up to her book that came out in 2013, ” Men on Strike.” No longer is it a “man’s world,” and Smith weaves together dozens of interviews of men from all ages and walks — their thoughts, struggles, concerns and experiences — to paint a picture of what it’s like for them in today’s landscape that casts men as misogynists and portrays masculinity as toxic and something to be shunned.

... implausible anti-Israel dog rape claim goes mainstream. Israeli officials reject allegation canines were trained to sexually abuse Palestinian prisoners, which Jewish groups call ‘modern day blood libel’ and experts say is virtually impossible. A week after a university commencement speaker was canceled because of a tweet claiming that Israel trains dogs to rape Palestinian prisoners, the allegation leapt into the pages of The New York Times. The columnist Nicholas Kristof included the claim in a column alleging widespread sexual abuse against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.

...after his generation left world 'a real mess'. [Ed: disappointing.] "Your generation has far more power than you may realize, and if you harness that power ... the world will not be able to ignore you. You will have to be accommodated."
