A round up of fascinating articles on Rand
on Friday 13 November 2009
by Wendy McElroy

The explosion of interest in Ayn Rand continues. Here's a smattering of the Rand articles I've come lately.

From the UK Independent: "Ayn Rand: Can two new biographies unravel the mystery of the mad, sad heroine of the American right?" This is a far-from-flattering review of Rand's life and work but it contains some intriguing info as well as howling errors.

Interesting indeed, The controversial speech by Elliot Spitzer, sponsored by Harvard's Edmond J. Safra Foundation Center for Ethics, was entitled "From Ayn Rand to Ken Feinberg How Quickly the Paradigm Shifts. What Should Be the Rationale for Government Participation in the Market?" Yep. That's the same Spitzer who resigned as Gov. of New York after admitting to patronizing prostitutes.

WFPL News
reports: Grants Get Ayn Rand’s Ideas into Kentucky Universities One of them, the University of Louisville, Kentucky, is receiving a $1 million grant from the BB&T Charitable Foundation to offer a course and other events focused on capitalism and including Rand’s philosophy.

The Hedge Fund Review relates Rand's work to the regulation of hedge funds in the article "Who Is John Galt?" Rand is being introduced into almost every conversation it seems.

And, of course, Reason Magazine continues its in-depth and fascinating series on Rand.
